Cancun, Mexico is one of the most popular travel destinations for Americans that are leaving the country. Many people have heard of Cancun as being a great destination for younger people, but there is plenty to do here for the entire family. There will be certain times of the year that this city is flooded with college spring breakers, high school students that just graduated and other young people that are looking to go somewhere to party because of the younger drinking age. If you have a family, choose the date to come here wisely and search for some of the more family-friendly resorts because there are some resorts that cater more to families than the younger crowd.

The beautiful beaches and water recreation are enough to make you want to visit, but the fishermen have other reasons for wanting to come here. The fishing can be spectacular. You will not find as many fishing charters here as you will find in some other exotic destinations, but there are enough boats available to give you a few options and they do catch fish.

Offshore fishing is popular in Cancun Mexico for blue marlin, white marlin, tuna, wahoo, dorado, sailfish, kingfish, barracuda, grouper and more. For the inshore anglers, you can catch tarpon, permit, snook and bonefish. The rates for some of the fishing charters that I looked up seem to be more reasonably priced than the fishing charters that you will find in south Florida and in the Bahamas.
